The brief was to create an organic, welcoming, child friendly garden bursting with colour, scent and tactile plants, full of fun and adventure. Overall the garden has to be safe so the steps have been removed and replaced with a gentle grass slope retained with a curved sleeper wall and sleeper steps to the right, with options to position a slide on the lawn, or roll, run and cycle down. All the hard edges have been removed, and grass paths on the upper level lead to areas for play and relaxation.

There is sturdy multi-purpose pergola to the left, incorporating a screen across the garden, with the opportunity to hang swings, ropes, hammocks etc, plus climbing bars and grow soft fruit such as raspberries. There is a willow tunnel and log stepping stone path leading to a flush deck in the corner edged with scented plants and overhanging festoon lights. The BBQ is in close proximity and the area is edged with a low lavender hedge and olive trees. The air source heat pump is enclosed behind a timber screen linked to the timber screen across the garden on the right to hide both shed and pump.

The planting is vibrant and tactile with opportunities to taste and smell, dig and search for worms and insects. The garden will be busy and buzzing with life and colour, a place to interact and have adventures!
