Nearly formal garden

Wimbledon

Constructed by Parklane Landscaping

A Victorian house with a contemporary glass extension and steps up to the garden focusing the eye toward the rear boundary screened with lateral trellis and standard bay trees which will eventually from a ‘hedge in the sky’. The sunniest part of the garden is also toward the rear of the garden so we created garden ‘rooms’ accessed via shingle paths around a central horseshoe lawn. The ‘rooms’ are separated by a central urn on a pedestal and surrounded with an abundance of white hydrangeas, lavender and geraniums, all edged with a parterre hedge. The client wished the garden to be as symmetrical as possible whilst allowing the ‘rooms’ to have different functions; one for dining; one for lounging. We used reclaimed york stone, London brick and golden shingle to create a traditional semi-formal garden to mirror the house.

'“We love the garden, it’s so much bigger than we realised. Worth every penny!”
