Organic Textural Garden

Kingston upon Thames

Constructed and planted by All Things Green

A redesign of the layout and planting scheme to create an garden with an organic textural feel billowing with gently arching tactile plants that are attractive to insects and beneficial to nature

The client requested lots of grasses, ferns, multi stemmed trees, clumps of Libertia, and good evergreen structure, with large leaves in the shade and a good contrast of form and foliage

We included a deep red Japanese Acer (Bloodgood) in front of the black Garden Room, and a gorgeous multi-stem birch tree (Betula utilis var. jacquemontii) with pale yellow and cream flowers such as Baltic Parsley (Cenolophium denudatum), Yarrow (Achillea Terracotta) Sisyrinchium striatum (Yellow-eyed grass) alongside the wonderful evergreen grasses of Luzula nivea (Snowy woodrush) and Sesleria autumnalis (Autumn moor grass)

A pretty white wisteria and evergreen jasmine will clamber over the frame by the house to soften and create an enclosed (green) outdoor room
