Edwardian garden

Esher

Constructed by All Things Green Landscaping

The brief was to create a traditional family garden to suit the age of the house with plenty of cottage garden plants, colour and mixed hard landscaping materials.  The garden is inspired by The Arts and Crafts movement with narrow paths, hidden surprises, and pretty ‘scenes’ to discover. We created a series of small interlocking rooms separated by bay hedges, and arches, and lawns divided by rows of fruit trees. Terraces are laid with reclaimed Cathedral grade york stone, and brick paths laid in a variety of patterns such as herringbone, basketweave and soldier course lead you around the garden. Tiles on edge are used for added detail and texture. The garden is designed to look ‘aged’ and over time plants will spill over onto the paths and soften the  edges.

“Thank you for creating such a beautiful space, we have received so many compliments from friends and neighbours. You interpreted our brief perfectly and came up with ideas we would never have thought of.”
